AGM Internal Audit

Mr. Simon Benjamin is the Head of Internal Audit of Prestige Assurance Plc, withover 20 years of professional experience across insurance, banking, oil and gas, and audit and assurance services. He brings deep expertise in internal audit leadership, regulatory compliance, enterprise control frameworks, and information systems assurance..

 In his current role, he provides independent, objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company's governance structures, risk management processes, and internal control environment. His responsibilities span financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits, as well as the monitoring of audit remediation and emerging regulatory risks.

Previously, he served as Acting Head, Internal Control & Compliance within the insurance sector, where he strengthened compliance frameworks, enhanced AML/CFT controls, coordinated regulatory examinations, and implemented organization-wide compliance awareness programmes. He has also held senior control and finance roles within a leading Nigerian commercial bank and multinational oil and gas service companies.

Mr. Benjamin is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Nigeria, and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, reflecting strong cross-disciplinary competence in accounting, insurance, and internal audit practice. He also holds a Master's degree in accounting and is an ISO/IEC 27001 Certified Lead Auditor, with proven capability in IT governance, information security, and data integrity assurance..
